Happy New Year for 2017!

We hope this will be a very good year for all of us in the Diocese, bringing many projects to fruition and enabling all of our parishes to share the vision of Alive in Faith. Together we can help build the firm foundations for the future of the Church in East Anglia.

By the end of 2016, two thirds of our parishes had taken part in Alive in Faith with tremendous results. This is a wonderful accomplishment not simply because of the funds pledged, but also due to the number of people taking part and becoming actively involved. Almost 6,400 households have learned about our plans so far, and on average, 42% of households have contributed to this important work. These results are encouraging and serve as a true witness to the generosity of our communities.

This year will see even more parishes and parishioners joining and lending their support for this extraordinary effort. We can all be proud in the knowledge that we will have played our part in providing funds for training new clergy and caring for those who have served us so well over many years. Our hard work also will see many projects in our parishes being completed, such as providing for an expanded car park in Ely, or supporting the food bank in North Walsham, among many other exciting initiatives. There will also be new forms of outreach to support those in need who are living on the margins of society.

What a great vision for 2017, what a great hope for the future of the Church! We ask God to bless our whole community here in East Anglia and make all of us "Alive in Faith."
